Set Those Falsies and Forget Them!

False eyelashes for a special event are truly a must.  Especially for someone like me who is somewhat eyelash challenged.  There was a time when I was quite the professional at applying them.  Back in the day when I used to perform a lot, I was the person in the dressing room who applied everyone’s lashes and wigs.

Those days are long gone now though so lashes are a rare treat and I am sorely out of practice, which sucks really because inevitably I’m applying lashes for a very important evening where the makeup just has to be perfect.  I always get too much glue on the lashes and my aim is horrible.  An inordinate amount of glue tends to get clumped all over my natural lashes and into my tear filled eyes.  Sigh.  So irritating, literally, and stressful!

Enter my absolute favorite eyelash glue on the planet.  This is very exciting girls and boys.  Darkness Eyelash Glue is very special stuff.  I think it’s Korean, but since I don’t read Korean I can’t be sure.  Anyway, the cap has this awesome little brush with which you can control the application of the glue.  Generally you would apply it to the lashes themselves and wait until the white glue (I prefer the white color over the black option) turns a sort of florescent blue color (or waiting longer for it to turn clear is fine too) and then go ahead and pop them on your lids.

That’s 100% the normal way to do it.  My secret with this product however is to actually use that thin little brush to line the glue across my eyelid where I want the lashes to rest;  that way, when my aim gets a little wonky, it’s no big deal to lift them up a bit and reposition the lashes.  Once I’m happy with the position of the lashes, I gently press the tips of the lashes into my lids a bit until everything feels super secure.

Then when the glue is dry I might dab a bit of liner over any exposed glue to mitigate any exposed tackiness.  Makeup artists would probably tell you I’m crazy for doing it this way but it works for me.  Shrug.  No more clumped up sticky lashes screwing up my lash line!

With that said, boy does that glue hold those lashes.  I feel like I could go swimming in those babies.  Not that I recommend doing that, I’m just saying that glue really keeps those lashes in place.  I’m not worried about my lashes popping off or poking into my eyes at all.  It’s very solid and very comfortable.

I know!  That’s crazy!  False lashes can’t be comfortable!

You have got to get this glue.

Special note: awesome glue that holds super well also means it’s a pain to remove the excess after peeling the lashes off.  I recommend using a makeup remover or face wash containing oil.  Or simply apply a tiny bit of oil to the area with a q-tip and it should rub right off when you wash your face.
Also, this is most likely an internet purchase.  I have yet to see Darkness Eyelash Glue in the store.
