Clear Radiance - Bare Escentuals


Clear Radiance is always the final step to my makeup. I cannot live without it. So much so, I get nervous when I'm low. It's a loose highlighter powder. Different from the Bare Escentuals face colors mentioned in the overview for the entire line below, Clear Radiance is a soft, dewy highlighter for your face. I'm personally convinced it diminishes the appearance of my wrinkles by diffusing the light hitting my face. It's not sparkly so you don't have to worry about looking like a 14 year old. The result is a soft pearl effect. I use a full face brush with a soft angle and swirl the product onto the brush in the cap. Then I always tap the excess off the brush. With that said, there is very little color to the product so it is more forgiving than a higher pigment loose powder. Once the brush is evenly loaded so to speak, I brush it along the top of my cheekbones and cheeks up to my temples. Doing this also aids in blending my blush. You may find it's nice to brush it lightly above your eyebrows as well. Focus on anywhere the light would hit you from above.
There are several other radiance shades which work well with different skin tones but this Clear Radiance shade works best for my fair skin.  Flawless Radiance is also pretty darn fantastic as well.

So recently I dealt with a difficult loss. I was in pretty bad shape and after a week or so found myself looking at a truly messed up stranger in the mirror. Individual ingredients sold separately for shockingly low prices. I'm the person who at times has purchased ingredients wholesale in bulk to make my own moisturizer. So this of course intrigued me. Now I want to preface this by saying you really do need to do your research before buying all of The Ordinary products and slapping them on your face. This is pretty potent stuff. Huxley Secret of Sahara Oil Essence; Essence-Like, Oil-Like

My dearest husband surprised me for my birthday last year by going to a beauty store in Korea Town, Los Angeles to buy me skin care. He says he finally figured it out. Skincare for me is like records and CDs are to him. I feel seen. Thanks to the advice of some clearly knowledgeable sales clerks in Korea Town, he got me some truly delightful products. To Good Genes or not to Good Genes. That is the Question.

There is a lot of buzz out there for the cult favorite GOOD GENES ($105). But Sunday Riley, the brand which makes this cult phenomenon is also cultivating a lot of buzz for bad business practices. I'm not one for supporting a company that fakes reviews. Maybe those fake reviews created the buzz to make GOOD GENES phenomenon; maybe they didn't. But in truth real people do love the product. Because lactic acid is an effective ingredient. Lactic acid, is lactic acid though. There are plenty of other brands that carry a good lactic acid product. For a one to one, meaning basically the same product/function, I actually prefer Tata Harper RESURFACING SERUM ($88). GOOD GENES is good but in my experience RESURFACING SERUM from Tata Harper is better and more effective. I recently discovered Thrive OVERNIGHT SENSATION Brightening Sleep Mask ($62) which combines glycolic and lactic acid and that is working well for me right now.
