Bain de Terre - Green Meadow Shampoo & Conditioner

An old favorite hair care line that I come back to again and again. Seriously, since the mid 90's. You will not believe how soft your hair feels after using this shampoo and conditioner. Everyone I know who has tried it has loved it. It is also very reasonably priced (drug store level) but only available at beauty supply stores. Just writing about it here makes me want to run out and get some. My only reservation is the smell. It is strong and definitely not my favorite. However, again, the results are pretty darn phenomenal. Who knows? You may love the smell! Give it a shot and let me know what you think.

SERIOUSLY, I'm heartbroken that I can't find it anymore. For very fine hair there isn't anything better I've tried. The herbal conditioning seal (or whatever they are calling the spray-on leave-in conditioner/detangler these days) is the BEST.

So recently I dealt with a difficult loss. I was in pretty bad shape and after a week or so found myself looking at a truly messed up stranger in the mirror. To Good Genes or not to Good Genes. That is the Question.

There is a lot of buzz out there for the cult favorite GOOD GENES ($105). But Sunday Riley, the brand which makes this cult phenomenon is also cultivating a lot of buzz for bad business practices. I'm not one for supporting a company that fakes reviews. Maybe those fake reviews created the buzz to make GOOD GENES phenomenon; maybe they didn't. But in truth real people do love the product. Because lactic acid is an effective ingredient. Lactic acid, is lactic acid though. There are plenty of other brands that carry a good lactic acid product. For a one to one, meaning basically the same product/function, I actually prefer Tata Harper RESURFACING SERUM ($88). GOOD GENES is good but in my experience RESURFACING SERUM from Tata Harper is better and more effective. I recently discovered Thrive OVERNIGHT SENSATION Brightening Sleep Mask ($62) which combines glycolic and lactic acid and that is working well for me right now. Huxley Secret of Sahara Oil Essence; Essence-Like, Oil-Like

My dearest husband surprised me for my birthday last year by going to a beauty store in Korea Town, Los Angeles to buy me skin care. He says he finally figured it out. Skincare for me is like records and CDs are to him. I feel seen. Thanks to the advice of some clearly knowledgeable sales clerks in Korea Town, he got me some truly delightful products. But for me to blog about a product I have to be madly in love. For the record I am currently out of my Huxley Oil Essence and it is frankly affecting my self esteem. This is not an exaggeration. Therefore it occurs to me that I really do need to spread the love on this one. From what I understand Huxley is a favorite among flight attendants.
