WEN - Cleansing Conditioner

Image
This is another one of those products I resisted. It's expensive and, let's face it, a girl likes her lather. Using this product incorrectly will definitely make you grumpy. Your hair won't feel clean. You'll hate it. But I finally figured out that this is not a less is more situation like most products. More is more. The directions on the materials for WEN tell you very specifically how many pumps to use depending on the length of your hair. I have long hair so I literally have to use 30 pumps (of the 32 oz. size, 40 for the 16 oz. size). If you do this and go through the trouble of combing it through, you will love me. I know, it sounds labor intensive. My already stupidly long shower is even longer (turn the water off if you can). You see, these are all reasons to resist this cleansing conditioner. I'm dead serious however when I say to you, THIS IS WONDERFUL STUFF! Look, I was having a bit of a bad run with new shampoos and conditioners. It was seriously bum...

Bain de Terre - Green Meadow Shampoo & Conditioner

Image
An old favorite hair care line that I come back to again and again. Seriously, since the mid 90's. You will not believe how soft your hair feels after using this shampoo and conditioner. Everyone I know who has tried it has loved it. It is also very reasonably priced (drug store level) but only available at beauty supply stores. Just writing about it here makes me want to run out and get some. My only reservation is the smell. It is strong and definitely not my favorite. However, again, the results are pretty darn phenomenal. Who knows? You may love the smell! Give it a shot and let me know what you think. Bain De Terre Shampoo 13.5 oz. Yes To Carrots Shampoo & Conditioner

Image
At about $8.49 a bottle, this hair care line has a great price and you know what? It has really nice products too. After using the shampoo and conditioner fairly regularly over the past few weeks, my hair is soft and manageable (despite going blonder than usual which is hell on your locks). I've mentioned before it's important to mix up your shampoo and conditioner to avoid product buildup and lifeless hair. This is a solid brand to add to your rotation. I can honestly say it's just as good as the expensive stuff. Love it! Yes to Carrots Shampoo - 16.9 oz. Yes to Carrots Conditioner - 16.9 oz.

Philosophy - Cinnamon Buns Shampoo, Conditioner, and Body Wash

Image
Yum. Philosophy is well known for these all in one body wash, shampoo, and conditioners that smell exactly like pie, cake, and cookies. Other great 'flavors' are pumpkin pie, waffle cone, red delicious apple, and lemon custard. I don't know how they do it, but they get the scents exactly right. There is something so special and decadent about sudsing up in a steamy hot shower surrounded by the smell of some sinful dessert. Call me crazy, but it seems to satisfy my cravings for sweets. The cinnamon buns is really wonderful. I'm sad when I don't have a bottle of this in my shower. I don't miss any of the other 'flavors' but this one is a must have. Plus this formulation is a good shampoo/conditioner combo to have in your rotation for those days when you don't have a lot of time to wash your hair. As a body wash it's fantastic, very moisturizing. So much so, you really don't need a shave gel. As a bubble bath, it's amazing. When you think a...

Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo

Image
So we all know it's bad to wash your hair every day. It dries it out too much and leaves you with straw no matter how luxurious your shampoo. I've heard it's best to wash your hair every 3 days. Of course this is easier said than done isn't it? Especially for me lately because my hair is more oily than usual. The secret is a dry powder shampoo in between washings. It absorbs excess oils and leaves a fresh scent. Surprise bonus? Volume, and lots of it. I've tried a few brands and this version by Oscar Blandi is my favorite. The scent is a really nice lemon. Although just between us kids, baby powder works just as well if you can handle smelling like a baby. Oscar Blandi Pronto - Dry Shampoo 1 oz (28 g)

Hair - Ojon

Image
The Ojon line is one of my favorites. It's not cheap but my hair always feels healthy when I use their shampoos, conditioners, and products. I have to admit that I don't take the time to use the treatment (the signature item of Ojon) as often as I should, it's time consuming and frankly messy, but when I do I definitely see a major improvement in my hair. With that said, the treatment lasts forever and I have yet to buy a new one. I think it's best to mix up your shampoo and conditioner. Using the same product over a long period of time will result in buildup and dullnes. Mixing the brands up keeps your hair guessing so to speak. With that said, Ojon is one of the best hair care lines I've ever used. I always keep it in rotation. These are the products I use regularly: Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment 1.5 oz Ojon Ultra Hydrating Shampoo 8.44 oz Ojon - Shine and Protect Conditioner - 8.44 fl oz Ojon Revitalizing Mist 5.07 fl oz (150 ml) Ojon Restorative Lea...
