SmashBox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder

I’m not a big foundation person. My daily routine consists of spot concealing. On those pretty princess evenings however when I want to go glam I consistently grab Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder. I’m a bit surprised to find myself saying that because I thought I was a Bare Escentuals foundation girl. There is something about this Halo stuff though that keeps me coming back for more. The color is a good match, the coverage is good, and when I look in the mirror later in the evening, I’m very happy with the appearance of my skin. It’s the opposite of dry and cakey and it doesn’t feel heavy (a must for me).
Smashbox claims it reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I really don’t know what to say about that. Maybe that’s because it’s supposed to magically happen 10 minutes after you apply the foundation and I’m not checking in and examining the wrinkle action closely at that time. Usually that’s about the time I’m running late. But don’t forget, I’m not looking in the mirror later in the evening and freaking out about my wrinkles. At the very least it’s not accentuating the fine lines and wrinkles. I suppose that’s all we can ask for in a foundation right?
Otherwise the formulation has gold, goji berry, 11 amino acids! I can’t for the life of me figure out what possible benefit gold would have for your skin but hello, them there’s gold in that pot! Even so, it’s not at all shimmery. I promise.
On a different note the packaging is kind of big and mine broke so that it doesn’t close properly anymore, but the little sifter action that shaves some fresh powder for you every time is tres cool.
There. It’s official. I love Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder.
