The Right Bra
This is another potentially odd choice for a beauty product but ladies, the right bra will do wonders for your body and confidence. You will look thinner, younger, and let’s face it, perkier. The wrong bra will make you look dumpy and frumpy. It’s a fact. There is no face crème or eyeliner that can help you if you’ve got a mess going on right there. There is a lot of hullabaloo out there claiming 80% of women are wearing the wrong size bra and the wrong type of bra. As I walk around town even in savvy, urbane Los Angeles, I have to say I believe it’s true. Ladies if your boobs are not standing up exactly in the middle of your upper arms, you’ve got a problem. If you have spillage of any sort poking out the cleavage, bottom, or sides, you are not looking good in your clothes. Every woman I know who has gotten a proper fitting feels like an entirely new person.
Do not go to Victoria’s Secret. They are not trained well and will only tell you a size they carry in the store. They swore to me I was a 34 because that was the lowest size they carried at the time. Wrong! I suspect it’s no coincidence that 80% of women also get their bras from Victoria’s Secret.
You can certainly measure yourself if you have a measuring tape. I did it myself and I’m certain I got it right. First wrap the measuring tape high around your back and across your upper chest. If the measurement is an even number, this is your size. If not add one inch to the number. For the cup size, bend at the waste so that your upper body is parallel to the floor and measure comfortably around your upper back and right across your breasts. The difference between that first strap measurement and this measurement will reveal your cup size. For example my first measurement is 32”. My second measurement is 35”. The difference is 3”. 1=A, 2=B, 3=C, 4=D and so on. Therefore, I am a size 32C.
Ok with that business out of the way let me tell you about this fantastic bra. I’m always on the lookout for that every day bra. No need for squeezing my girls together or pumping them up and out. It has to look smooth and great with anything I wear. Above all else, it has to feel comfortable. Kill me now if I’m tugging and pulling on my bra all day.
I got this Le Mystere Women’s Gigi Bra on the internet if you can believe it and it fits me better than any bra I’ve owned. I now fully understand why it’s worth it to invest in a good bra. I almost feel like this bra is giving me a hug. The color is a perfectly acceptable nude. The straps have a double flirty thing going on that will make me feel a whole lot less trashy when they show. I also feel like my posture is better. I love this bra!
There is a definite underwire going on here so if you hate that this might not be the bra for you. However, if after you go through the trouble of sizing yourself you discover you are a C cup or above, I strongly recommend an underwire. You’ll get used to it and look wonderful.
Let me know what you think!
