Konjac Root - Feel Really Full with Zero Extra Calories

 
     Half the battle for good skin is fought with what you eat and drink.  Regardless of which expensive cream you apply to your face, If you’re eating and drinking crap it’s going to show on your skin.  It’s that simple.  It’s been proven that a consistent diet of simple carbohydrates and sugar breaks down the elastin in your skin, causing wrinkles.  A diet full of table salt and other forms of sodium (diet soda anyone?) will cause swelling, bloating and fluid retention.  Not cute!
  
  Replace that soda or diet soda (sodium!) with water or iced tea.  Choose complex, high fiber carbohydrates (agave syrup, whole grain bread/pasta) rather than simple carbohydrates (sugar, white bread/pasta).  Go for Himalayan or sea salt rather than refined table salt.  Given consistency and time, I promise you these simple choices will show on your face.

    I’ve been a health nut for some time but recently I’ve been having some pretty wild cravings for sweets and simple carbohydrates.  Whether it’s just stress or my body chemistry changing, I’m finding myself feeling more compulsive about food and I seem to be hungry all the time.


     Coincidentally, I have also been hearing more and more lately (Dr. Oz/The Talk) about something called glucomannan, a natural fiber that happens to be zero calories and zero carbohydrates.  Apparently adding this to your diet helps you feel fuller longer without adding any calories.  It slows digestion which in turn slows the absorption of glucose resulting in a slower release of insulin.  This helps prevent wild swings in hunger during the day, hopefully saving you from grabbing that bag of chips out of desperation.


     You can get glucomannan in the form of shirataki glass noodles, or pills, but my absolute favorite source for this stuff is Slimstyles PGX SlimStyx Packets.  The name sounds super complicated and high tech but it is simply small packets of tiny bits of glucomannan that you can carry with you and sprinkle into/over your food.  It’s completely tasteless but it will thicken up your soup or yogurt a bit.  Long story short a bowl of soup will now leave you incredibly satisfied and full basically as if you just ate a huge bowl of pasta.  You’re not hungry a half hour later, in fact you’re not hungry again for quite some time.  I kid you not.  I’m feeling so much less compulsive and crazy about food.
